Waitakere is a beautiful part of New Zealand where tranquil harbours contrast starkly with the thunderingly murderous beaches of Piha. We couldn’t believe our luck when one of the area’s iconic buildings came up for sale and became the home of the Lone Star’s third Auckland restaurant. Originally known as ‘Ceramic House’, the Lone Star’s home is a truly funky brick house built in 1963 to showcase Ceramco’s building techniques. It features more brick than any other building in Australasia. We’ve restored and renovated to create an eye-catching café which seats 140 guests, a bar perfect to chill out in before dinner, a deck from which to admire West Auckland’s largest Pohutakawa and an area which can be used to host private functions. Any occasion is welcome - simply get in touch and we’ll look after you. Children are always welcome – they have their own menu and don’t forget to tell us if it’s your birthday.
