At Lone Star, we’re definitely a family friendly restaurant. Our menu caters to all ages with the mains ready to satisfy bigger grown-up appetites and a dedicated kids menu also. We’ve developed our own special Lone Star style dishes that go down a treat with our younger guests, featuring burgers, hot dogs, toasties, wraps, ribs, and fish n chips. What’s more, every little legend dining at Lone Star also gets a fizzy drink, juice or glass of milk and a ‘mudslide’ ice cream for dessert, absolutely free!

We know the kids can be pretty hungry after a big day so we’re open at child-friendly hours too. Our kitchens are serving from at least 5.30pm in the evening, with some Lone Stars open earlier, even for lunch in certain places. Check your nearest Lone Star’s opening hours to find out.

Our kids menu has something to colour in on the back to keep the kids entertained at the table, and ask the wait staff for the extra colouring in pages if you need them.

According to Statistics New Zealand around 6 out of 10 families include children. That’s a HUGE proportion of our population! To us, it makes sense to ensure we’re providing a place where the whole family can come to dine.

But just because we make an effort to welcome younger guests, doesn’t mean Lone Star is a “kids’ restaurant”. We work hard to ensure the menu and ambience is just as inviting for those of an earlier vintage too.
