Chef de Partie

We are looking for a confident Chef de Partie to join our busy work environment. This is a challenging and exciting role for someone with initiative, energy and passion.

You will be an integral part of the kitchen team working on the grill, pans and other areas of the kitchen. You will need to provide leadership as well as support to your fellow team members.

The team member we are looking for...

- Satisfy customers by giving them a flawless eating experience.

- Produce food of a very high standard by following our Lone Star recipes as specified

- Able to work under pressure in a high volume environment

- Have an energetic and passionate approach to your work

- Must be a team player, reliable and up for a challenge

- Be a clear and strong communicator

- Must be able to work on any given day

- Operate in and maintain a clean, orderly and professional kitchen.

- A sense of humour is important and encouraged

 

For this role you will have:

- Minimum of 2 years restaurant experience

- NZ Register Level 4 qualification or higher

- A Food Hygiene Certificate

- NZ Resident or Visa with minimum of 1 year left

Sous Chef

Are you an experienced Senior Chef de Partie ready for your next challenge? We are looking for a confident Sous Chef who can lead a team on the Head Chefs days off. This is a challenging, and exiting role for someone with initiative, energy and passion.

The Lone Star is a legendary name within the hospitality industry with nearly 28 years of service. Within this renowned company our point of difference has always been the team we work with. At Lone Star a positive attitude, and good character are a priority.

All Lone Star team members are responsible for delivering a true Lone Star experience by giving fast, friendly, personable, and memorable service by ensuring that each guest is satisfied by our food.

You will report to the Head Chef, and will work closely with our kitchen team to ensure all meals produced to the highest level. We are looking for an individual who has the confidence to provide leadership as well as support to your fellow team members.

Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa with no less than six months left before it expires.

You will possess experience:

  • Working in a high volume, high energy, fast paced kitchen.
  • Strong leadership & communication skills with all areas of the restaurant.
  • Teaching kitchen staff correct techniques and cooking procedures to ensure brand standards are high.
  • Attention to detail and monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
  • Discussing food prep issues with Managers and kitchen/front of house staff
  • Planning menus for functions
  • Ordering food supplies, and stocktakes
  • Manage wage costs
  • Explain and actively monitor hygiene regulations and Food Control Plan

For this role you will have:

- A minimum of 2 years as a Chef de Partie (Section Leader) level or higher

- A certificate at NZQF Level 4, or a higher qualification, which includes the credit and knowledge requirements of a New Zealand Certificate in Cookery (Level 4)

- A Food Hygiene Certificate
- A current First Aid Certificate (Beneficial)
