Get your backside trackside

Nestled between Alexandra and Cornwall parks, 10 minutes south of Auckland city and just 15 minutes from the airport, Lone Star Alexandra Park is brand new in May 2020. Owners Matt and Trevor are excited by the fresh new vibe they’re bringing to this exclusive suburb of the Auckland area.

Popular for its tree-lined streets, local parks and Mount Eden out to the west, Alexandra Park boasts some pretty spectacular views, and Greenlane Hospital is right across the road. We’re ready to roll out that classic Lone Star experience and take our place as the place to be in Auckland.

Racing and conference central

We’re uniquely located in the Alexandra Park Harness Racing venue, so there’s always something exciting going on—like the forty races every year, all on Friday nights. In fact, you could be just two metres from the track. Light streams through the glass windows giving you prime viewing at the 200m point of finishing straight, and gorgeous scenes across the whole track. And with the ASB Showground next door, if you’re hosting or attending events like the Royal Easter Show, the Auckland Home Show, and Big Boys Toys, we’re conveniently placed to get you refreshed and fueled up.

But Lone Star is also known for its family-friendly restaurants—and Alexandra Park is no different. Make the most of our relaxed spaces and know that even the kids will be well looked after (and they can be the harshest critic!).

Please note: the following is not available through level 2.

We have function spaces to suit groups of:

  • 10 people (a private room)
  • 20 people (semi-private)
  • 90 people (the trackside deck).

Plus, for pre-booked packages, a Stable Walk may be available. We have a huge restaurant area; there are over 300 seats including two bars and several large booths—or you could just sit back and relax on the all-weather outdoor deck.

With a hero wall filled with photos, and the Blues training outside at lunch, there’s nothing left to do except choose a Lone Star classic from the menu, and an ice-cold drink to keep you hydrated.
