the original Lone Star
Lone Star Manchester St opened it's doors to the dining public of the wonderful city of Christchurch at it's now iconic address of 26 Manchester st on the 13th September 1988. Founding partners Steve Ward and Tim Whelan had a simple philosophy when they opened the very first Lone Star. Make dining out fun, or as they tagged it, Entertainment.
26 Manchester St, quickly became a legendary Christchurch Cafe, that people from all around the country loved to visit and experience the love, care and generosity that made the Lone Star brand famous, and still is nearly 30 years later.
Well over a million meals have been served here in those fun filled years, just about everything that Cantabrians want to celebrate has been celebrated here, so much so that Lone Star Manchester st has a special place in the hearts of all of them.
The restaurant was rebuilt in 2013 after the earthquake that shattered so many lives in our great city. We were proud that our restaurant, the symbol of so many of the best of things in Canterbury, was erected on the same site that it had occupied for all those glorious years before. At the time the outpouring of emotion when we reopened from the people of the city, reenforced to us just what the Lone Star Manchester means to the people. That is the thing we are most proud of here at Lone Star Manchester St.
Tonight when you dine at this wonderful, iconic address, you to will become part of the Lone Star legend. Be proud of that, because we are of you.
Have fun with the team and come back soon to the original Lone Star where the fun never sets.
