Standing proud on Marine Parade, Lone Star Napier can be found in the beautiful and historic 1930’s ‘T&G’ building. We’re surrounded by restaurants, basketball courts, skate parks and everything that makes our small town great. Since 2006, we’ve been providing the famous Lone Star experience and hunger-busting meals.
That includes the VIP treatment you’ll get the moment you walk in. Just ask restaurant manager Alistair, who puts his vast experience to good use, giving you a comfortable, homely visit every time. The whole team gets a kick out of seeing a stream of happy smiles enjoying the smell of sea salt and the bustling atmosphere whenever you dine, and that could be anytime— we’re open later than most. All you have to do is choose—inside or outside.
Our beautiful seaside town lost much of its architectural history in the 1931 earthquake and was rebuilt Art Deco style. And now, the buildings that did survive share their richness with holiday and home makers. Beachgoers and walkers meander the local shops and sights, and balmy evenings were just made for ice-cream.
We’re known as the best family restaurant in town with plenty of space for big families, and even bigger celebrations. Plus, we love loud Country, Western and Rock music, so you can sing along to all your favourites while keeping your outing relaxed and casual. You’ll love our menu that’s inspired by the American South-West and Mexico, but with a proper kiwi twist. And if you like good size meals, you’re in the right spot.
If you love the classic Lone Star vibe, you’ll feel right at home with our quirky layout and cozy spaces. We have room for a quiet drink (the Snug bar), family dinners (a la carte menu), private events (25 people), semi-private (50 people), outdoor (also 50 people) and our dining room easily seats 150 people. Add our selection of bar snacks, the classic menu, set menus and platter options (pre-book)—and you’ll be spoilt for choice no matter the occasion.
We love all our guests—families of all sizes, conferences, couples on date night and all the other special occasions (especially birthdays!)—choosing their favourites from our tasty menu. Ribs, burgers and seafood that’ll really get you in the mood. And don’t forget, with daily happy hour from 4pm-6pm you can sip on all the right cocktails, and more than a few local wines and New Zealand beers.
So, after you’ve watched another gorgeous sunset over beautiful Napier, head in off the boardwalk for a sizzling steak or some deliciously fresh seafood—whatever floats your boat.
