Christchurch International Airport is the largest on the South Island and the second busiest in New Zealand, bringing passengers from all over the world. It’s here, on the outskirts of Christchurch City, that Spitfire Square plays host to a retail precinct that has everything you need while travelling. Lone Star Spitfire sits proudly on site, sharing the many adventures of our guests.
Our team are helpful and friendly; they take the time to get to know and appreciate our guests, by giving outstanding service and attention to detail. Owners Anna and Trevor are old hands at hospitality, leading a first-class team of restaurant managers who have a wealth of hospitality experience, and a kitchen manager who excels in classic Lone Star fare. The entire team genuinely care about giving you great value experience every time you dine.
So, whether you’re flying in or flying out (or know someone who is), Lone Star Spitfire is perfectly placed to grab a bite to eat.
Spitfire Square is an exciting place, always busy with airport and motorway traffic—it’s loved by local and international visitors. We’re the first Lone Star to be located near an airport, and the only one with a bar and plenty of parking space to boot. The restaurant was custom built so you can enjoy our vibrant restaurant with cosy corners and private booths, or the fresh Canterbury air from our sunny courtyard. And of course, it goes without saying that our food and beverage menu is a standout. Have you tried the Dixie Chicken?
We love the classic Lone Star vibe, so we’re family-friendly, love our music and enjoy seeing our guests having a great time. We help organise travelling birthday parties, big celebrations, and can cater for corporate functions and family dinners. Plus, sports fanatics won’t miss any of the action on our 75-inch screen in the bar. So, bring the kids, bring the crew, bring everyone—we’ve got you covered.
